‘World of Wonder’ is a hardcover monograph style art book detailing the extraordinary life and business trajectory of jeweller Margot McKinney.
Margot is arguably one of Australia’s most successful jewellers. The book sheds light on her unique working method and the fascinating and beautiful objects produced. Her story is one of determination and ambition with an extraordinary vision at its centre.
The book follows the same structure as the accompanying exhibition ‘World of Wonder’ and explores Margot’s various worlds – World of Pearls, World of Colour, World of Opals – and her process and jewellery-making practices. The highly pictorial pages provide an upclose view of bespoke sculptural pieces of every colour and form, revealing their exquisite detail and beauty.
A limited run of books is presented in a stunning black and gold foiled solander box, with gold lining, to become a much treasured collectors item. The publication was distributed internationally to Margot’s contacts and clients all over the world, and sold in outlets in Australia and the USA.
The exhibition branding that feature on the exhibition cover is a collage of these rare gems in the shape of a globe, inviting the reader to escape into Margot’s world…inspired by her exotic, colourful gems, and the opulence of the ornate and intricate designs.
