Only for friends and family!

My rule about invitations is I only do them for friends and family, as I would never be able to charge someone for all the time I put in. I did try it once, for a client, and it is true. It seems I have a lot of friends and family, so I am always doing something. Here are a just a few of my favourites.

Moment of Serendipity

A fun job for a great client. So many possibilites, but a moment of serendipity lead to a translucent stock being used, which really echoed the feel of the resin pieces.

Is it only a matter of time…

We really are in the digital age… my 4 year old knows how to work an iphone, my 2 yr old can use a mouse, yet I am still struggling to work out how graphic design fits into this age. I still love paper, books, print… but as book shops go broke and printers shut up shop, is it only a matter of time before old school graphic design is dead? Many will argue for both sides of this debate. I think I am still on the fence as to what I believe.

My recent website update shows mostly print work, but this is becoming a smaller part of what I do. Lets hope there is a revival, as I long for the smell of fresh ink and the crispness and smoothness of a newly printed job, straight out of the printers box. It is all too rare now. Even short run digital printing doesn’t cut it for me.

In my blog I am going to share some of my old print projects… just to reminisce. Enjoy!

Get on with it, already!

“Life is not a dress rehearsal”. Why is it that I keep waiting for the full production.

It amazes me how often I get to the end of the day and wonder what I achieved. Well, not today. After being up with sick children most of the night it is amazing how clear my brain is on what I need to do today. I am sure the tiredness will kick in soon, but that is what caffeine is for.

Get this website up and running if it kills me. Because as I am always telling my clients… you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
